5 Step Guide

Step 1: Make a list of all the required applications necessary in running your business. Large databases, streaming videos, browsing and downloading images etc.

Step 2: Monitor your bandwidth for a week. There are many tools to monitor your network and internet traffic in real-time and will measure your download and upload speeds and assess your bandwidth requirement.

Step 3: Print and review a traffic report after several days of monitoring. These reports will show a graph including all peeks of bandwidth use. You may not have problems with your bandwidth at off peak times, but from 2pm to 4 pm you may well experience spikes in usage. 

Step 4: Enforce technology policies giving users what they need without leaving everything open. If there is no need for streaming video and playing online games, lock out those functions.

Step 5: Determine how much bandwidth you need to optimise performance. There are many options available and before making a decision talk to us and review what is available in your area. We will talk to several vendors, furnish you with budgetary quotations and help to shortlist prospective service providers.
